Abby the Terror

Today Abby started showing her “terrible three” tendencies. She didn’t start the day off right when she started kicking Emily because she wouldn’t come play with her. Later after I went to work, she got into our bathroom and smeared Jennifer’s lipstick all over her mouth. When asked who had the lipstick, Abby said, “Sister has it”. Later while playing in Emily’s room, she ripped down the curtains in the room. Once again she was questioned what happed. Her reply, “Sister did it.” She has been getting into so much trouble lately Jennifer is afraid that she won’t be able to buy any of the new furniture that she wants to buy because she fears that the kids will just damage it. When she came to that conclusion, all she could do was laugh. It reminded Jennifer of something her mom told her, “She couldn’t have anything nice because the kids would just ruin it.”

Meanwhile, Emily (the good kid) is really starting to communicate more. She has started saying her second word: shoe. (Her first word was “bye”.) If you ask her where her shoes are she will run to her room to go get them. In honor of gathering her shoes, I’ve posted a picture of her as the picture of the day, with the shoes she gathered, of course.

Is EA Moving Downtown?

Jennifer went to a brunch with her Moms Church group today. She thought it was funny that a lot of people kept asking her about the news of Electronic Arts constructing a new building downtown. They kept asking about the 700 jobs that would be brought to the area. It turns out that there was another article in the Orlando Sentinel this weekend. The Florida House and Senate approved a $4.2 million increase to the University of Central Florida‘s budget to create a co-op between UCF and Electronic Arts. As far as I know, no final decision has been made on where we are building the building. From what I’ve heard they want to grow Tiburon into the size of EA Canada over the next five years. I can only guess that that is where the news reports are getting the 700 jobs from.

After brunch and Abby’s school, it was off to the park again. Amazing how much Jennifer and the girls have been going down to the park since we bought the bike buggy. This is three days in a row. I guess it was worth the money just so that they would get out of the house and get some sun.

I had fun playing MVP Baseball at lunch today. They won’t let us bring laptops to work so at lunch I take mine down to the atrium and set it up to play MVP Baseball or work on the web site while I eat.

Today’s picture is of Emily while she and Abby were playing dress-up.

New Best Friends

Today Jennifer and the girls went to the park in the new bike buggy. Abby once again met a new “best friend”. Abby was amazed by all the kids playing soccer. We may have to get her into soccer next year. I think she would probably be pretty good at it.

Today was the first manditory twelve hour day at work and it really felt like a long day. At least I’m home at a reasonable hour.

Today’s picture is from last week’s Easter egg hunt: me and Emily walking down by the lake in Winter Park.

Busy Sunday

While Saturday wasn’t very busy, Sunday went by really quick because we had so much to do today.

Ever since we bought the bike buggy, I haven’t been able to park in the garage. So, today we rearranged some items in order to be able to pull my truck in. The Halloween and Christmas decorations finally made it up into the attic.

We also finally got around to going through all of our files and shredding everything from 2002. This is something I usually do in January, but with the move into the new house I never got the chance. We also used this as an opportunity to clean the upstairs office. Especially since George is going to be coming to visit in a couple of weeks and this will be my last full weekend until the end of June because I will be busy at work.

I wanted to reclaim that room for my own. I moved the TiVo that was in the kids’ playroom up there and have it recording my programs only. I now have my laptop docked up there and I’m going to try and start using the upstairs room as my office. It’s pretty hard to use it when the kids are up because they find me and then they terrorize all the books that are up on the shelves, which means that I cannot get anything done because I’m constantly tracking them down.

I thought I would post a picture from the Super Bowl. I never posted any of the pictures up on the web site back in February.

Lazy Saturday

It was a lazy Saturday. We didn’t do much. We went to the Sanford Mall and rode the merry-go-round and had ice cream.

Yesterday, Jennifer bought Abby a Barbie vacuum so that she could pick up all the Cheerios that Emily spills on the floor. Barbie Vacuum: $30. Getting three year old to vacuum up after her baby sister: priceless.

Madden 2005 Screenshots

Electronic Arts has officially announced Madden NFL 2005 with a series of screen shots. With that announcement, I can now reveal that I have moved over from being the lead on the PC product to one of the leads for the console version. I am in charge of UI and Franchise. More information to come once EA has officially announced the feature set.

Easter Pictures

Today at work I got my voice recorded for a new feature in Madden NFL 2005. I can’t mention the new feature yet, but hopefully EA will announce the feature set at E3 in a couple of weeks. Then, I will fill in the details. It was pretty cool, but I wasn’t given the script ahead of time so the first few takes were pretty rough as I got used to reading my lines.

Update on the Great Baseboard Painting Project: the dining room is complete. Now only the living room, kitchen and hallways are left. Not too bad for only working on it for a week.

Jennifer has been flattered lately because people at church are starting to notice the weight she has lost. She’s lost 30 pounds over the past three months.

We got our Easter pictures back from our photographer. I’ve scanned them in and I present the best ones here. Photographs were taken by Jennifer Adams.

Day at the Park

Today Jennifer, Abby, and Emily took the bicycle down to the park. There, Abby found a new “best” friend and played with her. Jennifer said that riding the bike down there was a ton faster than walking down there which is what they had been doing.

I rented Sony’s Eye Toy for the PlayStation 2 from work today for Abby. This is a camera that sits on top of the television and plugs into the PS2. The camera puts your image on the TV and you play the games by moving around on the screen as things happen. It took a while for Abby to understand that she had to watch herself on television and not try to hit the TV itself.

Here’s another picture from yesterday’s bike excursion. Emily waves goodbye.

First Day of the Rest of Alpha

Today was the first day of Alpha and it was a much better pace than the past week. I actually left around 6:00 p.m. and was able to eat dinner with my family. We are still on mandated 10 hour days, so I’m going to start going in at 8:00 a.m. in order to leave in order to have dinner with Jennifer and the kids. We have been promised this weekend off as well.

Here’s another picture from the Easter egg hunt last Saturday. Emily is too small to jump in the Bounce House, but she can have fun, jumping on the outside.
