The Exchange

Nana and Poppy met Jennifer, Abby, and Emily at a McDonalds in Lufkin, Texas Sunday so that the girls could go visit with their grandparents for a week. Jennifer said that the meeting started off right because Nana and Poppy brought the girls toys to preoccupy them.

Once Jennifer got back to her parents’ house, she didn’t know what to do with her self. It’s taking her a little bit to get used to not having Abby and Emily under foot.

Once Abby and Emily got to Shreveport, they went and bought a new swimming pool and went swimming. Yesterday they went bike riding and playing at a playground down the street. There, Abby got stung by a wasp. Dad said that she didn’t cry much.

I’m going to set my dad up with a way to send me pictures so hopefully we will get some fresh pictures from the trip soon. For now, here’s another picture from last Christmas when we all went to Disney World.

I’m still alive

It’s been a while since my last writing. I’ve been extremely busy at work lately and haven’t had a chance to even turn on my laptop. We are just a week away from going Beta, so it’s getting pretty hectic. Jennifer and the girls are doing fine in Houston, even though Jennifer calls her parents’ house a “baby death trap”. Her vacation hasn’t really been a vacation because she’s been having to watch the kids constantly so that they don’t get into something. Tomorrow she is driving up to meet my parents and drop off the kids with them. My parents are excited to have the kids for a week. We are still  unsure about Emily, but we are hoping once she’s away, she will be okay. I’ll report on news from Nana and Poppy’s house tomorrow.

Today’s picture is of Nana and Abby from when they visited us in Orlando at Christmas.

Feeling Better

Feeling better today. Not eating as much as I usually do, but definitely more than yesterday. I went in for a full day of work and took a good bite out of my bug count. We are getting down to the wire. There’s only two more weeks of Alpha left.

Word from Jennifer is that Emily is being cranky about her new surroundings. This has gotten us a little worried about next week when Abby and Emily are going to be staying the whole week with my parents. We figure if she gets too fussy, Jennifer can always just drive up to Shreveport and be with the kids.

Jennifer hasn’t sent any pictures from the trip, yet. I won’t post anything until I get some fresh pictures.

Emily

Emily is getting so much more interactive. In the morning, when I get my socks out she runs off to go get my shoes. When Jennifer tells her to “go get her shoes” she runs off and goes and gets them. After they are on, she runs off and turns off the two televisions and heads out to the garage, ready to get into the car.

Going on Vacation

Today Jennifer went to get her hair highlighted. She’s goes to the RDV Sportsplex which has a day care where she can drop off the kids. We lost another one of Emily’s pacifiers. They said that they would call if they found it, but Jennifer told them that they were about to go “on vacation” and not to bother. Abby perked up, “We are going on vacation?” not even knowing what that meant. “I want to go on vacation, Mommy,” she stated and she kept talking about going on vacation for the next hour.

Today’s picture is of a mess that Emily made yesterday morning.

Second Chair Arrives

Nana & Poppy’s gift for Emily arrived today. Abby got her chair a couple of weeks ago and Emily just received hers. Hopefully that will stop the fighting for the one chair.

Jennifer and the girls rode their bike today up to the shopping center right outside of our subdivision to get ice cream. Jennifer said that it was a good idea to ride the bike because it works off all the callories that you put on with the ice cream.

Lazy Sunday

We didn’t do much today. I had the day off from work and I stayed home with the girls while Jennifer went to teach children’s church. We did laundry and just hung around the house.

Today’s picture is from our trip to the Fun Spot. Emily couldn’t ride any of the rides as you can see from the sign over her shoulder.

Bug Catcher

This is the last week of school for Abby. Today they gave gifts to all the students. Abby got a Bug Catcher kit: a clear box with some plastic tweezers and a bug net. She spent the afternoon in the driveway hunting for bugs. She caught an ant.

Abby spent the evening swimming at one of our neighbors. Jennifer said she passed out when she got home. She said that we will need to borrow the neighbor’s pool more often (until we can afford our own pool).

Today’s picture is Emily playing with her dolls. Note the two big front two teeth.

New VCR

This past weekend I had to buy a new VCR for the kids’ playroom. After we got it home all of a sudden the new VCR was doing exactly what the old VCR was doing. It turns out that one of their videos had gunk all over it and that was getting transferred to the heads so the picture wasn’t showing up. I manually wound the tape ahead of the gunk and the heads cleaned themselves.

Today’s picture is Abby and Emily looking out of the window in our room.
