Emily’s 10th Birthday

8362221618_962a96ecb6_oToday Emily turned 10 years old. We spent the day doing what she wanted to do: we went to see the movie The Rise of the Guardians, which they all liked; we ate at Five Guys Hamburgers; and finished it all off with cake at home. She’s going to have a slumber party with some of her friends in a few weeks to celebrate with them.

Feeding the Ducks

8350323539_d326de3c76_oWe spent the afternoon at Lake Eola in downtown Orlando feeding the swans and ducks. We took some old bread and broke it up, and fed it to the animals. Emily and Izzy had fun throwing the bread and seeing the birds catch it in the air. Once the bread was gone, we spent the rest of the afternoon on the playground.

Christmas 2012

Happy for PresentsThe newly decorated tree had a ton of presents for the girls for when they arrived. They dug through the stockings while I made a traditional Christmas dinner: handmade pizzas. Once they were done we started opening presents. Abby’s favorite gift was her oboe earrings that I gave her. Emily fell is love with the Furby and Izzy was tearing open her My Little Pony Castle the minute she ripped the wrapping paper off.

Horseback Riding

The girls’ friend, Leila, had a birthday part today and it was horseback riding. The girls were so excited and it was all they could talk about all weekend. Even though it was in the mid-90’s and hot outside, the girls had a lot of fun. They would have been exhausted if the goodie bags weren’t filled with candy and I was scraping them off the walls in the evening.

There’s Something in my Mouth

The Tooth Fairy visited Izzy last night. She said she reached up to her face and felt something in her mouth. She pulled it out and noticed it was her tooth. It was so ready to come out, you could see the other tooth coming in right behind it. Fortunately the Tooth Fairy was able to scrounge up $5. Inflation has affected Tooth Fairy land, too. I don’t remember getting that much. :-/
